Meet Grace

Grace Barrett is a compassionate seamstress and community tutor who founded London Sewing Courses. With over ten years of teaching experience, she welcomes everyone—from those taking their very first stitch to makers refining advanced skills. Grace’s gentle guidance helps stitch together confidence, creativity and calm in each learner.

Our Roots

Grace’s love of sewing was kindled at her mother’s side. As a child, she learned to thread the needle and guide fabric under the needle, discovering the soothing rhythm of every stitch. Over the years, she nurtured her skill—stitch by careful stitch—and found that sewing could mend both fabric and spirit.

Our Mission & Values

“At London Sewing Courses, we thread every adult stitch so young makers can sew their own story.”

We believe each class links one careful stitch to another, creating supportive seams that strengthen skills and build community.

In our calm, friendly studio in North London, learners move at their own pace. With patient, hands‑on instruction and practical projects, sewing becomes a soothing way to relieve stress, foster confidence, and spark creativity.
